At Dental & Implant Center, we offer clear aligner treatment using high-quality aligner systems appropriate for your case. The treatment principle is identical: a series of custom clear trays that progressively move teeth. Dr. Magallanes will advise on which system is best suited to your specific alignment needs.
Placement itself is not painful — no anesthesia is needed. In the first few days after placement or adjustment, some patients experience mild soreness as teeth begin to move. This is normal and typically resolves within 2–4 days. Over-the-counter pain relief handles it comfortably for most patients. Lingual braces may initially affect speech slightly, which resolves as the tongue adapts.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic evaluation around age 7, when the first permanent molars typically appear. At this stage, Dr. Magallanes can identify developing bite issues and advise whether early intervention is beneficial — or whether monitoring is the right approach. Not every child needs treatment at 7, but the evaluation is valuable regardless.
In most cases, yes — though the approach needs to be adapted. Implants cannot be moved (they're anchored in bone), so they act as fixed anchors during treatment. Crowns and veneers can have brackets bonded to them with special adhesive, though there are some considerations around aesthetics. Clear aligners are particularly well-suited for Arizona patients since tray changes happen at home, requiring fewer in-office visits.
